With industry and government support, and advocacy, the NSW Department of Education created Australia’s first, in-curriculum, Cyber Security course.
The new Cyber Security course is embedded, as a ‘Specialised Topic’, in Stage 5 (years 9 & 10), NSW Department of Education Approved iSTEM Elective which was publicly released in December 2021.
Designed by the MCB Business Partners Newconomy Learning Resources team to support teachers deliver the new Cyber Security course, Cyber City, licensed for teachers use freely, under a Creative Commons licence, is a complete, and industry-aligned set of pedagogical resources and methods to support teachers introduce inquiry-led, cyber security and digital innovation concepts in the classroom.
